We are a clinical psychology service based in the South West of England. Our primary area of expertise is in providing trauma informed and attachment focused assessment and therapy services for children and young people who have experienced a history of developmental trauma, such as neglect and/or abuse. 

 

Building Bridges was established by Jason Solomons, an HCPC registered clinical psychologist. Jason has over 15 years experience working with children, adolescents and families in a wide range of contexts (NHS, Local Authority, independent services, Family and Criminal Court, and education). The majority of Jason’s experience has included specialising in working with children and young people with a history of trauma, neglect and abuse (sexual/physical/ emotional).

 

Jason is passionate about working with children and families with a history of developmental trauma. He established Building Bridges Psychology Service due to a concern that traditional services, such as the NHS, are not always able to provide a timely and specialised service for such children and families due to an overdemand on their resources. He noticed that this often left our most vulnerable children and families, and the professionals who work with them, without the support they need to help them overcome difficulties from their past and to develop their resilience. Building Bridges was established in order to try provide this support.
